At 3:01pm, the variable established contact via email, thus partially proving the aforementioned hypothesis insofar as he misses me. Good. He doesn't want to call, because he thinks I need my space. In all fairness, he's partially right. It would be a severely awkward conversation right about now.
Now the experiment must change, because I have to think of something seriously clever to say.
